All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting this zero-tolerance approach and ensuring that any concerns are taken seriously, investigated promptly, and addressed appropriately. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any breach by a supplier may lead to the termination of our relationship.

Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning materials, equipment, facilities management support, and labour services. We expect all suppliers to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to operate in full compliance with applicable labour and human rights laws.

Prior to engagement, suppliers are assessed against our ethical standards, including their approach to labour practices, worker welfare, and transparency. We seek to work only with businesses that can demonstrate robust procedures to guard against modern slavery and human trafficking.

We conduct proportionate supplier audits to monitor compliance. These audits may include document reviews, site visits where appropriate, and discussions with management and workers. Where risks are identified, we expect suppliers to implement corrective actions within agreed timescales. Failure to address identified risks or non-compliance may result in reduced business, suspension, or termination of the supplier relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers to speak up about any concerns relating to modern slavery or unethical conduct, without fear of retaliation. Concerns may include suspected forced labour, underage working, withholding of wages or documents, harassment, or unsafe working conditions linked to exploitation.

Reports can be made verbally or in writing to a line manager or senior manager, or through established internal reporting mechanisms. We also expect suppliers to maintain their own reporting channels and to inform us promptly of any substantiated allegations of modern slavery within their operations or supply chains.

All reports will be treated seriously and, so far as is reasonably possible, confidentially. We will investigate concerns promptly, take appropriate remedial action, and, where necessary, cooperate with relevant authorities. No one raising a genuine concern in good faith will be victimised or suffer any detriment as a result.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. Relevant staff receive guidance on recognising potential indicators of exploitation, such as signs of coercion, restricted freedom of movement, or unusual dependency on third parties. Managers involved in procurement and recruitment receive additional information on assessing risk in supplier relationships and labour engagement.

We periodically review and update our training materials to reflect changes in legislation, emerging best practice, and lessons learned from our own risk assessments and audits.
